I haven't been a victim of a crime ever, so its just as socialist. Maybe someone can pay you directly when there place is broken into. After all THEY'RE the ones that must have made their place a target for a roberry, etc.
Hey like in some parts of the country people pay the fire dept directly for fire fighting. No yearly payment and they let your house burn down.

Sounds good too me. Lets set up the system so I get paid per call. I'd make more money. As per usual, you have no clue what you are talking about. And remember, when these limp wristed liberals call for my help, make sure they have their VISA card ready BEFORE I come to help them.

Do you realize how stupid your comment is? Police, fire, paramedics, are a NECESSARY function of our society and I don't mind paying taxes for them. I DO mind paying taxes for other peoples children and their "mistakes." PLAN your family before you have them or don't have them. Its pretty simple.

Not too mention, I pay taxes too. And, I can gurantee I pay a helluva lot more then most people in the city I work in and, for that matter, a helluva lot more then most people in the state of California.

My position wouldn't change no matter what I do. YOU had kids. YOU pay for them.

Some people have a hard time distinguishing between necessary services to Society that all benefit from and should pay for, those that only a select few benefit from and then those who take advantage of the work of others.

Yeah, like when I go to walmart and buy a BBQ grill and you get your paycheck, you are spending MY money.

Yes, people who work for a living are just asking for trouble in this state, sadly.

Yes, Leonard, but if enough people leave California because of attitudes similar to yours, you ain't gonna get a pension at the end of it all. Or it will be drastically reduced. In fact there have been recommendations to cut pensions for all government workers in California past and present--a very "conservative" position, by the way. And it certainly would go a long way toward reducing deficits.

But I suppose it's okay to drain the people for your retirement as opposed to the education of the children that will lead the state and the nation in the future. Why don't you compromise, get those interested in education to rescind Prop 30 and you and other government workers cut your retirement by about 25%??

I say we cut private sector workers pay, benefits, and 401k accounts by 25%

Conservatives don't like paying anyone for anything, period, liberals don't like paying for services and demand everyone else pay for them instead. No one wants to pay anyone for anything.

Well the headlines sounded good. Then you start actually reading it and .................... not so good news at all, just the typical hype that follows all tax increases.

Oh here is good news:

"On election day last week, voters approved Proposition 30, the governor's plan to temporarily raise the sales tax and income taxes on high earners,".

Remember now when you buy anything, say you are not a high earner and you won' have to pay the higher sales tax, right?
If you are rich, you are paying the higher income taxes and the higher sales tax.
If you are anyone else, you are paying just the higher sales tax.
If you are you, you probably have terrible reading comprehension.

If I learn that you're anti-abortion after reading this rant, I'll laugh till I urinate.
