People like that think socialism is great as long as someone else pays the bills.

He is also angry, that in his home town, the Anglos as he calls the White People are being denied a nice theater, as it was put into the part of town that the Anglos are afraid to go into after dark. That the big shopping center is not in the part of town that his mother wants to shop. Her wants the main shopping center and theater, etc., etc., made so that the Anglos who can spend more money than the other residents will feel safe and want to shop.

He complains that the Hispanic population no longer wants to pick his crops and he lost a lot of money having to plow under 1/3rd of his crops.

He wants everyone to leave California, so he and his farm empire can have the state to themselves.

He does not care what is best for the population as a whole. He does not care for anyone but himself.

He does not care, that the companies and people in California are being driven out. He says good riddance.

He does not care, that the people with money and companies are leaving and taking the good jobs with them and leaving the ones remaining with a high employment rate.

He says that the farm workers on farms like his are well paid. Take a look at this article and see the truth.

California Farm Workers Stuck Between Poverty And Neglect, Suffer From Low Wages And Lack Of Organization

With farm owners like they have in California, no wonder they cannot get enough pickers. As he can't get enough pickers to pick his crops and loses 1/3rd of it, it is proof enough that he is a typical California farm owner, that is exploiting the workers. In places like Montana, we have a lot of large farms growing crops that fit the area. These farmers instead of trying to work farm workers like slaves paying next to nothing for the work, have turned to mechanization and well paid farm workers. They can do the same in California but when I brought this up, he says such equipment is not available. It is not available because the farmers won't invest money for it, and want next thing to slave labor at very low pay. Cheaper that way.

He doesn't want trees cut, so he can recreate and camp in them. That attitude is the reason that Northern California has gone from a vibrant economy years ago, to the lowest incomes in the state. It went from a thriving timer industry, to high unemployment and low incomes. The best income is from growing Marijuana, where a big portion of the people have had to turn to growing and handling an illegal product to live. The are thinks of timber as a renewable resource that is farmed and harvested as crops, just as in his area they plant and harvest vegetables. The problem is people like him from other areas that want to trees to be there anywhere they want them to be so they can go camp. To heck with the people that need to feed their families, and need the work from farming timber. Use any technique to stop them from harvesting trees even on private land, so he people can drive up from the cities and look at the trees.

See how the northern timber counties, have a much lower income than the rest of the state.

California Median Household Income County Rank Based on ACS 2006-2010 data*

Check the towns in the timber country that used to have very low employment, and how high it is today.

Just look at the high unemployment rate over much of California once you get away from the big city areas such as the Silicon Valley, and these areas are not getting much better. As he says he does not care, as it will just make it a better state if they all leave as far as he is concerned.

Those of us that still care about California and have friends and family in the state we would like to see prosper and do well, care about the state. We want to see employment opportunities increase and companies finding it is an advantage to be in California not moving their money and jobs out of the state.

Tell me about these so called issues, and how they affect the average citizen. And, I really do not care about others, I have no social conscience, heck, I could be a Republican.

How does the Ellis Act relate to Ag?

No, I don't consider what you are doing as "speak up" all you are doing is complaining from 3,000 miles away. Regarding Mexico growers, re read what I wrote, regarding taxes paid by business. Business passes on costs to the consumer. You did not know this?

Funny guy, Socialism is at work in every single modern industrial country, including those that are beating the pants off the US in every category that makes live good, and including this one, and you like it.

Another California company caught not willing to pay taxes in California or anywhere else it appears.

Don't like! Facebook paid just £2.9m corporation tax on £800m profit made outside the US by using Cayman Islands haven | Mail Online

We deplore that the California government attitude, keeps driving jobs from California. A big company moving jobs from California because of the latest tax hike and unfriendly business attitude in the state.

Adios California Boeing to shutter plants - San Diego County Political Buzz | Examiner.com

The Democrat leaders attitude is trying to keep Boeing and other plants from other states. They are moving a lot of their operation to South Carolina.

Pelosi: South Carolina Boeing Plant Should Unionize or Shut Down

Through the NLRB they are suing Boeing and trying to keep them from doing a lot more in South Carolina saying they are moving to prevent future union strikes. And dear old Nancy, wants to demand they have to unionize in a non union state. They call union members Democrat Voters of course.

They forget that cost to do business in an area, and taxes is one of the costs to do business, is what determines where a company should locate and be profitable. California is about the highest place in the country to do business. Just moving to another state makes the difference between losing money and making money.

A company can move to another state where wages are lower, but due to cost of living the employees actually make more disposable income than in California. That is why so many companies and people are leaving California.

It is estimated that as an example, you can move a company from Los Angelos to another state, and lower the cost to do business by as much as 40%. This makes it possible to move a company that is losing money being located in California and make it a very profitable company.

How about families moving to another area. How does this effect them income wise.

Adjusted median household incomes adjusted for cost of living to determine which area that a person can live and have the most actual disposable income shows California cities in the bay area, are 24th and 25th in line, and other cities far below. You can live in 23 areas of the country working for the going local wages, and actually have more disposable income than you can in the highest paid part of California due to the high cost of living in California.

List of Metro Areas By Cost Effectiveness (Adjusted Income) « True Cost – Analyzing our economy, government policy, and society through the lens of cost-benefit

You have to go down to 24th and 25th place, and then down to 44th to find another one. LA is 49th of the highest paid 50 areas of the country.

This is why so many (225,000 per year) middle and upper income people are leaving the state each year. They want to move to where they can make a decent living.

Interesting fact: Right to work states, have higher incomes when they are adjusted for cost of living than Unionized States. Note California is one of he seven worst states for income when adjusted for cost of living in the U.S. according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis .

Williamson Act has saved California agriculture. It is one on the most important acts ever passed. No farm could remain in business if the land was taxed at highest and best use. It protects the owners

The sales tax relief you cite save our tenants.

1/4 of this states GDP is agriculture related, it is vitally important to protect it.

Saving California Agriculture allows the nation to eat.

In addition to that, all of our farms left, will go into conservation easements that will prevent them from ever being developed.

Now, some may quibble, but, consider what the land could be sold for, compared to what it nets. However, if one believes in farming and that America should feed itself, it is the right thing to do.

I have mentioned before that I get no income from our farms. The idea that many millions of dollars could come to me if we sold, could be a temptation, and too many would be a temptation, but, I believe in keeping farmland farming, even at what some would consider a sacrifice. My grandfather began farming in CA, my father and brother kept it going, and now, I am responsible.

Similar cases are made for Prop 13... and it also applies to farmland.

The Farm Bureau heavily supported Prop 13's passage because property tax was rising at twice the rate of inflation.
