I found places that were concealed and out of the way. I never slept in the same place twice.

1. Did it take a lot of time to find a new place to sleep each night?
2. What did you use to keep warm?

It was a pain in the ass, and I'm glad It's something that's in my distant past. What did I do to keep warm? Same thing everybody else does - use a blanket.

Yes, a blanket is best.
Because contrary to popular belief, the Sunday edition of the Los Angeles Times is not as warm as it looks.

Newspapers work, it's just that you have to crumple the pages and stuff them into your clothes.

Being homeless doesn't mean being "under the bridge" necessarily...anyone who doesn't have a stable address/place is technically homeless...whether they're staying in campgrounds, RV parks, hotels, in work-stay situations, etc...

For several years Tioga George has lived & travelled in his type C motorhome. He is a member of www.rv.net/forum & he has kept a blog & photos of his travels & adventures, mechanical failures, etc. He is proud that he hasn't paid any space fees to stay overnight anywhere.

George has spent a lot of time in CA, especially near San Diego. He spends much of his time in Mexico. He has traveled to many other great states in our USA...

Are homeless shelters generally safe?

From what I understand you sleep in the same one big room with other people. Is there a good chance of other people touching you while you are sleeping?
