A nice thing about the job creation numbers for both Texas and California is these net gains are on top of government job losses (60,000 California government and 50,000 Texas government jobs lost).

So, a little math,
Texas, net gain = 237,500. Public job loss = 50,000. Private job gain = 287,500
California, net gain=211,500. Public job loss=60,000. Private job gain = 271,500

Government jobs deplete the tax base. Private jobs contribute to the tax base.

These number are through July 2012.

Yeah, that's it mostly. There is also a good dose of political nonsense because the whiners are without fail right wing extremest so they hate that California doesn't vote for their party of choice yet continues to out perform virtually the entire country. It proves most of their ideology wrong and they're very upset about that. Facts just don't matter to them so much as ideological purity.

Any new hiring is great news for California. But California has a long way to go before they are out of the woods.

The following is a few months behind, but the statistics have not changed much. California is in 51st place in recovering the total number of jobs lost since 2007 till May 2012. 9 States led by Texas had completely recovered the jobs lost or considerably increased more than they had lost.

Nine states have regained all jobs lost to recession - The Business Journals

A good article from the end of 2011, showing charts that show how in the past year about as many companies laid off, equal to the number of new hires by field and this is still going on. Some of the lay offs, are caused by the companies moving he company or division out of California. It says that in high tech, 1 in 4 companies are hiring from overseas, instead of in California.

Hot Jobs in California 2012 - Palm Springs Career Advice | Examiner.com

One of the big thing that has hurt California, is the number of companies that have moved out of the state at the rate of an average of 1 every working day taking their jobs with them and this is increasing. Another thing that has hurt California, is big California companies opening most if not all of their new operations and expansion outside of California. These companies are laying off, counterbalancing the number of new hires.

One big reason that the unemployment rate has gone down is not that people were hired, as much as that people have dropped out of seeking for jobs. People have taken part time jobs when they finally give up and take just anything to eat, and they are no longer counted as unemployed. And a record number of people are giving up finding employment and are finding ways to get disability payments and drop out of the workforce. In fact in the middle this past year, for months more people went on disability than found jobs. They know a lot of people could not find jobs, and just gave up and found some way to get on disability retirement that would have normally stayed working.

Hope'n'Change: More People Went on Disability than Found Jobs in June - Kate Hicks

Until the people in California get their governments into finding ways to bring jobs in California instead of looking for new sources of taxation and putting new rules and requirements in place that drive jobs from California the state will continue to have problems.

As always, oldtrader, your links are old and irrelevant. I smell desperation here.

This seems to be where he gets his 'facts'
