Food, shelter, clothing.

Now would I rather have starving people in the streets or feed them?

I go with feed them. But that's just me, and the majority of voters, Phil.

WE pay for it Phil. By paying taxes.

I seem to have used all my wishes up and can't wish everyone into a job...
Phil gets more of the tax payers money than any other welfare person. Yet he feels comfortable hammering on them. He and they would get nothing, if we did not give it to them. Socialism at work.

What's kind of funny is that every time the "Phil and taxes" thread pops up to the top in the San Diego forum I think of our Phil here. I've gotta work on breaking that association.

Couple of points Senno. One, I pay taxes too and I am willing bet alot more then you do. In so far as my union? I don't have one. Never did. That is another leftist, liberal lie which isn't true. Not ALL public employee's are represented by unions. Of course, losers like you like to associate the world with a very broad brush.

Now, having said that, I hope you keep working California for a very long time. Thank you for paying my generous retirement, which I'll be raking in, in 2 years (the wife 3 yrs). I'll be making close to 100k a year in my retirement, at age 52. You? You will be sitting in your cubicle driving yourself nuts with idiots like Highinlite (and his huge pot belly) talking about people getting out too nature. Me? I'll be in nature, out of the California, living the good life.

Remember that in 3 yrs, when your boss hands you some computer work too do. I'll be in a foreign country living the great life. And, when this state says pay us more money. We have more welfare recepients and we have to pay the retiree's payroll, remember that is what YOU wanted. You wanted this great state of socialism. So don't whine, complain, or moan. Its what and your pot bellied pal wanted.

I'm not whining. /shrug

Glad you get a good retirement. My uncles retiring CHP in 2 years as well. He's bought an orchard and will be remaining in the Exeter area since we have a ton of family in Tulare county on that side of the family. Your relatively early retirement is part of the deal after all. You put in the dangerous time, and we pay you for it in retirement.

I am glad you are retiring sooner than later though. Frankly you scare me as a cop.

Leave the country if you want. It's a free country after all. Do post in future and let us know how it's going.

I think it is funny, according to you, I am limp wristed, pot bellied, pansied and sissied. Yet, I am the one who spent his career on wild fires, and spend my spare time riding or hiking or climbing mountains, and you are the one driving around town eating doughnuts.

I recommend Somalia for those who dislike socialism, it is about the only place left that isn't socialist. That "foreign country" Phil is moving to, whichever one it is, is likely more socialist than the US, and he will like it.

It's silly that people think the highest offices in this country yield the most power.

Can I be like Cincinnatus, absolute dictator for 16 days, able to issue irrevocable edicts, and then resign? If so, could sure do a lot of good. If not, just plain old governor, would just resign. California is a runaway train, headed for a wreck when it finally jumps the tracks, and no one mere mortal can possibly save it.
