Considering Nvidia is in Santa Clara, and the Transbay Tower in San Francisco, you will have a lot of work before companies start moving due to tight inventories. NVidia will probably wait until the HQ is finished anyway. There is actually a lot of construction in the South Bay now with regard to office space.

LinkedIn is also moving to a new HQ in Sunnyvale for example, and the project is under construction.
More details emerge on LinkedIn's Sunnyvale campus plans - Silicon Valley Business Journal

There is also a lot more vacancies going up the peninsula, and down to San Jose that would need to be filled. Granted the way companies are expanding, who knows what will happen.

And let's not forget that pesky Arizona company *cough*GoDaddy*cough* making the crazy decision to expand, not east but northwestward into CA.

Glad I give them my business. Over the past decade I've bought seven video cards from them (almost makes me mad thinking how much that adds up to!).

The big thing is, they are building a building to consolidate work forces working in numerous buildings around the area. The big question is, except for the construction, how much employment it will add to the area. There is always a possibility, having everything in one location instead of scattering them around, may actually allow operating with fewer employees.

There will be a lot of STEM jobs in those buildings, but the question is, Is there going to be a substantial increase in STEM jobs. The thing is, California has less STEM jobs than they had in 2000 down to about the 1990 level.

According to the article they are going to demolish the existing office park, for NVidia then it sounds like they will be adding 2-3000 employees, depending on how many actually work in the office park right now.
Nvidia new Santa Clara office: Design details - Silicon Valley Business Journal

As for totals, it sounds like they plan to demolish almost 480,000sqft of space to make a little over 1 million sqft, but the company has plans with the city for up to 2 million, it is not clear if they plan to build the rest of it later, of it they will stay with around 1M. If you take the estimate of 250sqft per employee, we will go from 1920 employees to 4000 total in the lot. So it would be an extra 2080 jobs roughly.
