Show me an area of California where millions of people live earning a good living without suffering life threatening bad air. In the urban area where millions of people live, there is bad air, period. Look at the income people earn, in the areas of California that have clean air. Lets look at Eureka the largest city in North West California over a recent 10 year period. The same population levels of 60 years ago, when I lived there.

Population by Year Change Rate
2000 26,127 N/A
2001 25,993 -0.51%
2002 25,968 -0.10%
2003 25,853 -0.44%
2004 25,803 -0.19%
2005 25,644 -0.62%
2006 25,518 -0.49%
2007 25,282 -0.92%
2008 25,212 -0.28%
2009 25,245 0.13%
Since then?
Population in 2011: 27,218. Population change since 2000: +4.2% From //www.city-data.com/city/Eureka...#ixzz2NEDJEDn0

That is a list of cheapest places to retire, not best places to retire. From the article:

But the bigger bias is the importance we place on day-to-day economic issues: the average price of a home, the cost of living and the tax burden on retirees. So there are no entries here from states where it costs a lot to get by, such as California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.
And your whole argument on leaving California otherwise you die is not shared widely. In fact, the life expectancy in California is 3rd highest at 80.4 years old (Montana is number 27 at 78.4)

A problem with critical thinking skills here. Note the difference in meaning between "Millions upon millions of people live in California earning a good living...etc" and "Show me an area of California where millions of people live"

Trying to justify one moving to the northern great plains by continually making incoherent statements about California indicates a need for a hobby.

Reminds me of the old story, years ago up where OT lives in the great windpower paradise of the northern plains, a man comes home from work one day and finds his children all shot dead, his wife dead on the kitchen floor with a pistol in her hand and in the other hand a note that said, "I am sorry, I just couldn't take the wind anymore."

Quote:
The doctors advice for both my wife and myself, was move or die. We moved here for clean air.
It is important to note that the death rate for Montana is 100%
