Does the title of the article irritate the crap out of anyone else, or just me?

That's exactly why we take the "Fresno show" on the road.

One of my mostest favorite times:

Fresno State teaches USC humility 101

Seems both states have a significant suck factor in this regard. Sorry, Bakersfield.
I don't know why your saying sorry. Your always the one instigating most of the TX vs CA fights in the first place. I'm surprised you had the audacity and face to post the article considering the crap you usually talk about Texas.

But do you have a free notary? That's one of the amenities that Tea, Montana offers and it might be the deciding factor for people to decide where to relocate.

It's not that those people can't read it's that they simply do not read. Not surprisingly those cities are all poor, tend conservative, and are filled with uneducated people. Both Fresno and Stockton are pretty much filled with a mix of poor white trash and illegal aliens. They're bright red districts too so once again we see that both ignorance and stupidity go hand in hand with being conservative. No surprises there.

Always with the partisan garbage. People who are capable of thinking for themselves rather merely parroting party lines could always come back with a more "universal" take on Calfornia as a whole and its decidedly liberal governance from Sacramento on down but would be more likely to equate poor academic performance to poverty levels which are generally the real issue/problem.

I ignored it as he don't know that more people voted for Barack Obama in the last presidential election in Fresno County than for Romney and we are surprisingly purple. /shrug

He also ignores that CUSD is a top performer in an arguably conservative section of Fresno (and Clovis of course). /anothershrug

He also ignores our diversity as we aren't plum full of illegal aliens. We do have a few rednecks though. /waves (redneck once removed.) /Ireachedmy2shruglimit.

Agreed re: the connection between poverty and low-education/illiteracy. But party line or no, it's also difficult to overlook the obvious facts... that the most educated places are also usually the most lib-rul ones (and often the most prosperous too). Otherwise wouldn't our "smartest" places like Silicon Valley (including Stanford), Cambridge, MA (Harvard, MIT), and even Austin (hi-tech & UofTX) all be hardcore conservative, instead of notoriously liberal?
