Born in San Jose, lived up and down the state my whole life except for a three year stint in South Carolina when I was in grade school. Thank god we moved back.

To all that are returning to CA after an extended time away Welcome Back! There's really no place like home. We've been back one year and we pinch ourselves every day.

So glad you're so glad. For many and like you, Dorothy truly said it best, "There's no place like home!" Unfortunately, what was home for me for almost half my life no longer exists so I have found peace and contentment elsewhere.

my pa's side of the family came out here in the 1850s and we been out here ever since. that and $1 will get me a beer at the VFW.

Its a pretty amazing thing to look into tho. on the wagon trail out here, the first child was born in missouri, the next one was born in nevada, and the first california native of the family was born in santa cruz, three years later. something to think about next time ya think your rows too tough to hoe....

my ma's side of the family were "gott dam eye-talians" as my gramma use to say who settled up on the sonoma coast.

I'm not a native, but have been here since I was seven (1983) - born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and glad my father's company transferred him to SF.
