I live in a van seven to eight months a year up and down the whole Pacific coast -- and on a sailboat for four to five months a year in Hawaii. I wouldn't live in a house ever again. I know lots of people like me. I, and others, look perfectly normal on the streets ... neat and clean and healthy. It takes clever but simplistic systems and a love of minimalism. The lifestyle isn't acceptable to most folks.

What do you want to know? If you are talking about gianormous buses with slide-outs and generators and LCD TeeVee's, don't bother to ask me. If that's your game just buy a house like everybody else.

I'm partially disabled and I am looking to downsize, live inexpensive and enjoy myself if possible.

I was just looking for input on what people who do this have done/encountered along the way?

I have a friend who lives full time in a travel trailer in Vacaville, ca.....But he just parks right there and never moves

I would like to do more than just that

Years ago , parttime we lived in our 1978 American Clipper C motorhome, while we fished, explored parts of CA. American Clippers For Sale

We have had many wonderful adventures fishing on the Delta/Mendota & CA Aqueduct canals, San Luis Res Forebay by Santa Nella, CA Delta, Camanche Lake, south shore, etc, etc...

Tioga George has lived fulltime many years in multiple states & frequently in Mexico, in his Tioga motorhome, with solar panels & 6- 6volt batteries. He's had a fulltime blog, a long time, stemming from www.rv.net/forum .....he may be still living in his rv.

P.S. i just found George's Blog...... The Adventures of Tioga and George

Best of Luck with your Adventure bro.

Thanks for all the information. I have not made up my mind that I'm going to do it. But I'm leaning that way.

It is appealing.

Many parks allow live ins. They would never fill up if they didn't.

I've always found the idea of this appealing, and am interested in replies.

I know there are people who come to the Coachella Valley for 6-7 months at a time, and stay in RV parks. When it starts getting hot, they head north or east for better weather. There was a story in the local paper quite a few years ago about different people meeting up at the local RV parks each year, then going their own way for the summer. Kind of a mobile/temporary/repeating neighborhood.
Here's a link to one of the local parks.

I am exploring the idea of buying a plot of land in LV specifically designated for a mobile home and setting up shop.
