So far, have only been to the one in Salinas, and it's fantastic! Great parade, lasts several days.

You want to sit in the main grandstand, so the sun will be behind you as the day moves on, so you can be in some shade. It's been my experience that they never check your ticket, unless you try to get into the fancy box seats in front (which never get any shade!), so you can pay for a cheaper ticket, then sneak into the main grandstand LOL!

Tell me about your California rodeo experiences.

We went to the Poway Rodeo last year. It is one of the smaller rodeos, with competitors coming from all over the US, but mostly from the country towns of California.

It is always fun.

It's been years and I am not sure it still happens. I used to really like the Rodeo at the Earl Warren Showground that accompanied Fiesta Week in Santa Barbara.

So many options! I think I will make it my retirement hobby to go to every rodeo in California!

i was kind of being a smart *** about the guerneville rodeo, afaik it use to be a gay rodeo.....

the castro valley/rowell ranch rodeo is in may

not sure if the livermore rodeo has happened yet or not, but those are both some good tastes of how the east bay ranch communities use to be.
