I'm currently living in Ventura County, and I enjoyed living in Downtown Ventura. The main things that bug me are that its a little colder than I prefer, the housing is expensive for apartments (not enough good apartment or condo stock), and of course the homeless situation.

I'm drawn to Orange County (or maybe San Diego really but right now I'm comparing Orange and Ventura) because it seems like it me be overall a little bit warmer, and there is a larger population base for a single person who doesn't necessarily want to stay single. These may seem like small things but to me they seem to be the two main drivers fro me to leave Ventura County (its warmer, more people).

Of course, more people could become a drawback fairly quickly. I'm afraid staying in Ventura I might feel I missed out. Or, it might be nice to avoid crowds and just maybe there is no need to explore further in CA for me.

Where would you rather live, more importantly, why? Everyone is different but I'm interested in what motivates people I can't really compare the two because I only know living in Ventura, I have never lived in the OC only visited. I'd hate to move there and feel like I'd have been better of staying in Ventura where I've gotten to know the area, have some good doctors, and a couple of social connections (granted, not many). Or maybe even SB, then I'm still close to my new network (or TO, etc.)

ps. the reason I'm comparing these two is they are more suburban and have small downtowns like Ventura vs. the big cities of SD And LA. I am looking at those as well but I tend to like small downtowns like Ventura better than large cities for overall quality of life.

If Ventura had dispensaries, it would have the clear edge over OC. Ventura feels more laid back with a higher quality of life than OC. It also has better weather and less crime than OC. I'd say stick with Ventura unless you really need to have MMJ close by.

ha. the MMJ is a drawback to me. In fact one of the reasons I dumped my boyfriend...in Ventura...

The weather is better? Do you mean inland or do you like the cooler beach weather? Just curious.
