With that said you need to have some serious money to waste if you want to accomplish your goal in SB.

Rent is quite high in towns like Santa Barbara.

Why are you all nagging on SB? It's not too far from Ventura and Malibu. Surf in Isla Vista is good. The downtown is fun to shop, dine, and go out to a movie or a concert of some sort. There's plenty of good hiking trails. Plenty of people his age and also SB city college is a school he could attend to meet people.

If cost is a problem, then he could live in carpinteria or goleta.

ok, you want to have fun, but how are you going to support your fun habits? You find the bay area boring, I think it might be time for you to start thinking about growing up for heaven's sake. Fun doesn't have to mean girls, cheap liquor and playtime.

What else? (serious)

Iv been oppressed. I am here to reclaim my youth. I am not going to be 30, going bald and gaining weight, and all of a sudden start smoking weed and partying. That would be ridiculous. Had I grown up normal, this whole thing could have been avoided. I was oppressed, and I plan on spending 20-23 the way 14-17 should have been.

Lol, I like this thread. He makes sense.

Living with roommates (cheap), getting laid lots (not particularly expensive, but be careful) and drinking lots of cheap booze (cheap) -- all of these are much easier to do at 19 than 30.
