The signs are for liability reasons ,because of lawsuits .
A great many companies have left California because of lawsuits, due to people using things for which they were not designed,
Or ignored the warnings, or worse simply a deep pocket from which to steal legally.
People still are required to sign a waver admitting that skiing is a dangerous sport, and do so of their own will .
Yet these same people make them self exception, and sue having done something stupid in the slopes.
People cheat the insurance companies and the courts are so liberal the abuse to the companies drives them to higher premiums . My family 40 odd years ago started a company that services other companies through out southern California, and almost weekly noted for the last 4-5 years, that there is either a company folding or moving out each week.
Fortunately my brother who runs the business is about to retire so It's not effecting the future of the business he'll fold it any way. Some due to the decline in business and some due to his age.
California legislature is so stupid to think that new business is foolish enough to believe their lies, which are obvious concerning business, just because they publish a lie does not make it so. They are not business friendly.

Yes, it's a shame what's happening to both the taxpayers and the businesses who employ them in CA. You'd think that a guy running a business and employing others would be a hero. He might get some special status for adding to the state's prosperity. Heck, maybe he'd get a special parking spot at Best Buy or something. Nope. He's seen as a target. Lawyers target him. Legislators target him. Some of his own employees will target him. He's an object to be bled dry and abused. No wonder they leave for Texas.

So they can do business unimpeded by, say, laws against exploiting undocumented labor, laws providing for safe working conditions, laws protecting the environment from pollution and destruction, laws preventing dumb hicks from waving guns and moonshine around in businesses (oh, wait, this is Texas...strike that), laws against discrimination in the workplace, laws against corrupt "job-creators" stealing earned income from their workforce, laws protecting emergency/medical leave, laws protecting workers' benefits...?

We know they fantasize profusely about revisiting the Wild West out there, but it doesn't jibe with the reality that the "job-creators" have to at least pretend to treat their workers like humans, if they seek to continue doing business for any appreciable length of time.

Bill Whittle explains how places like California are ruining any sense of liberty, and are also taking away the fun of living here.

It's a free country, but not so much in California, where there's:

"No fires, no parking, all animals must be on a leash, no photography, camping not permitted, no lifeguard on duty, penalties will apply, permit required. Gun free zone, noise ordinance enforced. Fly quietly, minimum altitude 1000 feet. No ATV's, personal watercraft prohibited, wake limit strictly enforced, plastic bags no longer available, tow-away zone. Fishing permit required, environmentally sensitive area, no dogs allowed, se habla espanol."

Good thing none of that stuff goes on in the god-fearing, freedom haven known as Texas, riiiiiiight sunshine?

Of course, as late as 2009, hotel patrons drinking in hotel bars were still being arrested by TABC agents if they seemed intoxicated. Reason given: they might drive away while intoxicated. In reality, their only journey after leaving the bar would be the walk back to their hotel rooms.

You guys are sure touchy about Texas. Texas mostly looks good when it is compared to CA. I lived in Dallas for a couple of years. Very tough place to spend a summer and I'd be hard pressed to go back. But Texans have retained a lot of freedoms that we have let our politicians take away. Or that we have willingly voted away. I admire Texans for their spirit of independence and self sufficiency - what's left of it. Sad that there are so many Californians who can't see what they have lost.

You mentioned Texas first, dear, after posting a video that bemoaned a bunch of restrictions that you'll find in any state, Texas included. I highlighted them in bold in post 15 in case you missed it.

So what do they do with it? Loud fat white people in big pickup trucks with Confederate flags and gunracks wanking about gawd and secession, all led by the likes of Rick Perry and Ted Cruz. Wonderful.

If CA has too many laws, it's because it has so many people. If Texas wants to create their own version of such a situation, they can certainly encourage it by inviting their own population explosion.

How A CEO of a company, can get a $100,000 raise or more. It is even a BIGGER RAISE, if they move to Texas.

Companies are fleeing California right and left due to the regulations and business taxes in California. They have gone so far overboard in these taxes and regulations they are fleeing California.

Those laws and regulations, plus the high tax rates, is why so many people are fleeing California. Good solid middle and upper working class people, that are fed up with the California government attitude. Why even California companies are moving their operations out of California

It is amazing, that so many on these threads, run down Texas, but if Texas is so bad why for the last 15 years have the middle and upper working class been moving in droves to Texas from California. Why are more people leaving California for other states than are moving into California from other states, for the past 15 years.

Yes, it is clear from these sort of sources that "middle and upper class" Republicans are fleeing to the Bible Belt. Not a great surprise, really. Buh-bye!
Shall we guess to whom such a vaunted source is preaching to?

Again, if you want to import hordes of angry Californians into Texas, you're going to turn Texas into Angry California, complete with massive congestion and soaring COL. Why this would be preferable is taxing to the imagination.
