What is the most deadly street in Sonoma county?
I have lived on Moorland Ave. in Santa Rosa, CA for 8 years.
We live just outside the city limit west of Hwy 101. There is a Berry’s Market about
a half mile South of us. Moorland Ave from W. Robles to Berry’s Market is
extremely dangerous for Bicycles and pedestrians. And there are a good number of each.
It is a shame that a lot of the residents are afraid to take a walk to the corner Berry’s Market.
Since the new Graton Casino opened a couple months ago 2 miles from here...the traffic and speeding
has only gotten worse. At the same time there are more pedestrians and bikes.

Why is it dangerous?
1. No shoulders
2. A Deep Ditch along each side of the road
3. Narrow road
4. Only one sign posting speed limit 30 mph.
5. Some People think this is a Sear’s Point practice track. This is residential not race track.
6. The road is very poorly lit. Where are the street lights?
7. Road needs repaved.
I rarely walk down this street. But I was sideswiped once by a West bound car
going approx. 55 mph...my rearview mirror was knocked off and it left a long
streak along the driver’s side.
Another time about 1 pm a car going about 60 mph went out of control
and hit our fence. His car ended upside down in the ditch. He was drunk.
Yet another time my brother was walking to Berry’s and a car full of teens
almost knocked my brother into the ditch yelling “Get off the road” as they raced down the road.
My ex husband will ride his bike to Berry's on occasion only to nearly be knocked off the road into the ditch by speeders going up to 70 mph.
I have nearly hit a pedestrian at night because I wasn't even able to see them until I was very close.
How many accidents and near misses will it take before something is done?

i'm not sure exactly what you think CD can do for you. maybe it's time to chat with your local government?

when you moved into your current location, the roads were exactly as they are now & it didn't seem to bother you then? moorland isn't exactly the best part of town & because it's outside city limits, good luck at getting your road bumped to the top of the priority list.

Isn't Greenville Rd the most dangerous, statistically speaking?
