Anywhere you go there will be friendly and not-so-friendly people and you can't judge a place by the size of the entire state. I got an engineering degree from Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) and thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. The university has a LOT of foreign students and many work full and part time while attending school. If engineering is your thing, I would highly recommend CPP. They have programs in place to help people deal with their limitations, and to help them be more well rounded people. It's a well known fact that engineers aren't the best writers and they will help you become a better writer. The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department also hosts a yearly Thanksgiving feast to help foreigners better understand our culture. It's a great community! After you get your degree and some work experience, then you can move to CO!!
