I have been living in my vehicle for the past couple of years, but I'm about to lose it. I have a small income that is sufficient for everything I need except rent. I am desperate beyond words to avoid living in anything like a homeless shelter. I won't go into the problems it would cause for me.

I need a place to stay while I'm waiting for SSI and subsidized housing programs. I'm considering some long-term camping. I know that it is against park rules and that I'm opening myself up to serial killers and whatnot. I'm ok with sneaking around as long as I can find a place large enough to hide me and potable water. I'm interested in the Putah Creek area, which is a few miles from Winters.

Any information about this place, warnings, advice, recommendations about other places I could camp?

Have you tried all the homeless shelters, rescue missions etc......

Dont have any friends where you can flop for awhile?

I once traded an acquaintance "guard duty" for staying in my equipment yard warehouse for a few months while he got back on his feet. He wouldnt take any other type of charity or handout. He also worked for me doing landscaping during those few months.

Be creative.
