The Bakersfield Commons project recently lost the proposed new baseball stadium. That might stall the Commons project for a while. I keep hearing Bakersfield is supposed to get a Bevmo soon. Not sure where. My guess is close to the River Walk.

The outlets will draw lots of traffic, especially travelers going down I-5 and northern L.A county people who don't care to drive all the way to Palm springs. I doubt anyone traveling down the 5 has any reason to drive out of the way to Fresno or Tulare, now the outlets will be just an exit away.

Bakersfield retail development has always been way behind with the pace of residential. Bakersfield is paced to out grow Fresno and the city has a lot of catching up to do.
