Not native Californians. It's stupid. Like calling Oregon Ori or Washington Washi.

If everyone stopped mentioning California tomorrow, it wouldn't affect me, and most residents, in the least. Besides, most of the things people say about the State are so far from reality it would be better if they didn't say anything at all.

Anyone can resurrect a thread (posts, per se, are not resurrected). There are currently about 6 threads that have to do with the term "Cali." No idea why people find this topic so fascinating.

I do not care if it is called a post or a thread, it has now reached the point of utter stupidity. I have already lost too many brain cells on CD.

They may have different editions for different parts of the state. Sunset magazine does too.

Could care less... I'm a middle aged native Californian and lived in So. Cal all my life. I've heard it here and there, but never had a reaction to it. Only learned I needed to fret about it when I found City Data.

They must have different editions. Mine has "Orange County" in smaller type above the title "Westways" on the cover--probably would not be sent to members in LA or San Diego counties!

My current issue does have "Cali" on the cover. I still don't think I've actually heard anyone utter this word, but I've increasingly seen it in writing in the past 10 years or so. In this case, I'm trying to believe that they just didn't have enough room to write out "California."

^Cali natives

I don't mind the term "Cali" and would encourage any natives or non-natives alike to freely use this whenever you have a chance to interact with Calis or as some prefer, Ornians
