I might add to my previous comment about runoff. We actually had 18 hours of runoff with the last bit. It's a start.
I agree with you, and that has been truth for me since I was, oh I dont know.... eighteen?

Kids today. They did not grow up reading the SF Chronical. What do they know?

Seriously! Anyone who grew up without the Chronicle is de facto ignorant. They'll never be able to make up for that loss. Except for the NY Times people. But even the Times didn't have Herb Cain.

I'm just waiting for the storm here in the North SF Bay. The "calm before the storm" is at around 36 hours now. This coming storm has got to be the great grandmother of all storms!

Should I take the dog out for his walk? I am skeered that an inch of rain will hit me before I get home.

Well, I can definitely remember a few rains in July in the 70's when I lived in Marin.

Why do your think any arbitrary season makes any more sense than any other arbitrary season?

Well, you can take Stanton Delaplane
And Charles McCabe too
And that's not all that you can do.
Herb Cain ... rattling in my brain!

Best I can remember from the Duck's Breath Mystery Theater way back when...

All righty then. First raindrops are here.

Hope power stays on. God willing and the creek dont rise. Too high, at least. (My property backs up onto a creek... a BIG creek!)

Oh my ... even as I write this the rain is pretty heavy .... no hurricane winds yet ...

Keep those sandbags handy. The creeks will be rising. It's predicted that parts around Sacramento will be seeing eight inches of rain. Residents have been preparing for the past couple of days by raking up their leaves and getting them off the street. The last storm caused a few neighborhoods to flood because leaves were blocking the drains. When I was a kid, this was the best time to play in the streets ... floating on an inner tube.

Watch out for what you wish for. Wait til the El Nino starts washing the ocean up onto the Great Highway, and into the neighborhoods. It won't happen soon, but in 30 years, life could be looking different around the world.
