It really doesn't say much, mbell. Tesla built a new plant in Lathrop, just outside of Manteca and Amazon has now opened a new center in Tracy. They already have one in Patterson, San Bernardino, and Moreno Valley.

I know you want to convince people here that California is losing business but that's just not completely true. While some companies choose to move their operations out of state, there are still some coming in. Please, find something else to cry about. This shtick is getting quite old.

In other news, McDonald’s, a business entity that found early success primarily in California, has opened a store in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Really? You don't have a clue about how business works if you are seriously going to compare Apple to McDonalds

This from the poster who thinks there's something alarming and unusual about one of the world's great corporations having multiple facilities in widespread geographic locations.

Apple announces $2B global command center in Arizona
Is Arizona such a terrible place to be such that it is a big deal when a single big-name business takes over operations that are located there?

I mean, I expect good businesses to be located in Arizona, in the sense that my local grocery store is always well stocked with meat, milk, bread and vegetables.

While my fingers aren't exactly on the economic pulse of CA (our company's division hq is located in Irvine, CA), Apple did receive some rather lucrative tax breaks for moving into that building in Mesa, AZ. One of our state reps just introduced legislature to categorize Apple as an International company (reality), so they're going to receive more breaks.

GM builds corvettes in Kentucky, not exactly an easy daily commute from Detroit.

See you in June, San Diego.

maybe because other states are stupid like Nevada. They gave Apple tens of millions in tax breaks and a huge discount on energy costs (which will be repaid by residential utility customers) for a data center that 'might' employ 40 people. It's basically a lights out operation you get a few network engineers who know how to plug wires into a router and that's about it. I think that says more about the morons running Nevada than it does about California

Meanwhile Microsoft and Amazon have facilities here.

Hmm.... they must have even more hostile business climate up there in Washington state. But wait, why don't they just skip CA altogether then?
