Those are both really nice places to visit.

The daffodils come out a bit earlier than the native wildflowers, our town planted about 10,000 that greet you as you drive in, they're about 5" tall at the moment and should all be blooming in about 10 days. Native plants start showing up about 10 days after that. it should be a good year, lots of rain this winter

Couldn't rep you again yet humboldt

Another place to visit is Blue Bird Haven Iris Garden in Somerset (El Dorado county). I visited this place once and there were acres and acres of iris plants. Thought the ones with black flowers were interesting. Their website claims there are 100,000 iris plants growing on this farm. BlueBird Haven Iris Garden (lousy website - you'd think they could show some photos).

Here's something else you can look at. There is a list of bed & breakfast places. Highway 49 runs north/south through the gold country and it would be worth a drive along this highway to see some of the old historic towns. Mrs. Dubstyle will probably like all of the antique shops in the area. California Hwy 49 Gold Rush Country Mother Lode Business Shopping Restaurant Real Estate Lodging

Hi! I live in Murphys, Ca. It is beautiful here. There is so much to do in all seasons. Bear Valley Ski Resort is only 45 minutes away, there are numerous lakes, rivers, hiking paths, gold mining, caverns, etc. Not to mention Big Trees State Park right up the hill. It's an incredible place to live!
Let me know how I can help you in your quest. I'm a Realtor here and can send you any information that you need!
