What ever you do, do not move to Shasta County or anywhere north of Sacramento. Shasta County is the dumping ground for those getting out of prison and the crime is bad here. Most people have little education up here and many are on welfare. The San Diego area is a better choice.

If you really want friendly, down home country living move to the south east U.S.
