The only fair way to repeal Prop 13 would be to allow landlords to pass on the tax increase to their tenants, especially in rent controlled units -- everyone needs to pay their fair share.

Default 50mil. gallons of water lost to vandals in Bay Area

Some Jerk Wasted Almost 50 Million Gallons Of Water In The Middle Of A DROUGHT: SFist

A rubber damn in Fremont was damaged by vandals, causing the loss of nearly 50 million gallons of captured water that was intended to be used for recharging local aquifers.

Who does this kind of crap? Did they think they being were funny? People need to learn to respect property that isn't theirs, and doubly so for public property.

Another way to look at it is 31,250,000 people all flushed their toilets at once. Assuming they all have 1.6 gallon toilets.

My mistakes. Both, the typo and for missing the original thread and making a new one.

Thanks to the mod who merged mine into this thread.

Unlikely they will be caught, and likely that they don't feel bad about it. There are just a lot of evil people out there with animalistic levels of consideration for others.

why would a 30 year old rubber dam that failed have necessarily been vandalized? Doesn't rubber crack after being baked in the sun for 30 years?
