These Are The 10 Worst Places To Live In California - RoadSnacks

According to the article, 8 of them are in Riverside & San Bernardino Counties. Can't say it's a shocking list. Every time I go back to visit family in Hemet it seems to get a little bit worse.

"We used science to determine which places in The Golden State are the real pits"

Doesn't take much science to determine that. I've been to seven of those cities, more than a few times, and I can understand how they made the list. The sad part is that many of those cities were'nt really that bad until the housing bubble popped and homes got dirt cheap.

The problem is that one of those is totally subjective ("worst" weather) and two others are merely someone's opinion of what is bad ("high student-teacher ratio" and "long commute time"). Just like every other list out there, this one sucks... and I lived in Richardson TX and would still choose Joshua Tree or DHS *any* day over Richardson.

What about El Monte? Needles? El Cajon? Chowchilla? I thought they would be on that list.

Or Oakland, or maybe the municipally bankrupt cities?

Death Valley is not on the list. I wonder why.

Perhaps because it's not a city?

Actually, the photos that are used in the captions for each city don't really support the words, by and large.

Some of those photos are gorgeous, and nothing is really that bad going by the photos alone.

As for some of the captions, some are VERY judgmental (see San Bernardino) and are these people employed/paid by Del Taco or what?

As for Mendota, the use of the word "wedged" is very fanciful. Virtually NOTHING in the Central Valley is wedged between anything else unless we're talking fields.

Ok, have to take your word on this as I can't recall having seen Hemet myself, but the 1 in 10 not having a job deal.....? Doesn't Hemet have a large RETIRED population? They don't mention that in their survey.
