The beaches at Moss Landing are a particular delight in my mind, as they are usually so isolated. What a great setting to drown bait optimistically

We used to spend a lot of time fishing & camping at Nacimiento & San Antonio Lake (pretty close to Hunter Liggett Paso Robles).

We would catch a mess of crappie at Naci, then deep fry them in batter, fry up some taters & onions, homemade cole slaw, fresh bread, ice cold beer. Invite over family & friends....

There were many largemouth bass, red eared perch, Striped bass, in Lake San Antonio. We always brought our boat.

Those are sweet stripers! My son and I were loving that guy trying to get them in on small tackle. Looks like great fun.

I used to go behind the old canneries in Moss Landing, fish from their piers, catch & release some nice Jack Smelt, using squid........good times.

When I was coming over to fish, I usually stopped at the "Giant Artichoke" in Castroville to get an order of deep fried artichoke hearts, to go.....yum.....

Default Best Places for Fishing in California

Just talked to a friend on vacation at Morro bay, he said the surf fishing is great, he said he's getting his limit of sea perch every day
