I'd pay a premium to go to Haggen if they had a self checkout.

LOL, this week I accepted the Haggen premium and shopped there. No checkout wait lines. Most everybody is shopping elsewhere for lower prices. Lines are huge at local Albertson's.

My local Haggen has 4 self checkouts, but I still hope they close and Albertsons comes back in to this spot where they originally were 6 months ago.

An update after filing for bankruptcy protection on September 8.

They released news today that they've sold 91 of their stores in the areas they are leaving. An Oregon paper has a list:

Haggen has found buyers for 91 of its stores. Here's the list | OregonLive.com [oregonlive.com]

Some sales are still waiting for court approval. Among the would-be buyers include Smart & Final, Gelsons, Spourts, Stater Brothers, 99 Ranch, and yes, Albertsons. The stores sold are in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
