We've already had that discussion, and it relates to high volume of California-bashing threads that get started here in quantities that far exceed the number of anti-state threads you see on other state's forums. After a while, people get sick of it.

That's probably because California is the first most populated state out of the 50 states, holding up to 15% of the US population, and many of those people are not well-rounded, meaning they don't have that great of a background.

I have no problem talking to people who dislike California, if we all thought it was great these threads would be about 10 posts long with lots of "me too's" But when a comment about California contains these words; Democrat // Liberal // Socialism // Obama Then in my opinion it's not a discussion about California at all, it's just another political rant.

No one is forcing anyone to respond.

The threads I find annoying I just don't read or respond. Makes life a little easier that way.

All those topics, save Obama, would be appropriate discussion. State politics is a one party affair. Only one party to take credit for the successes and failures of this state.

Oh really? I think if you take a closer look at our state history, you'll see both parties played a role in it. I know, most Republicans think Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger were too liberal. But they were still in power. And instead, it was good ole' 'Moonbeam' Brown that pulled us out of the Great Recession that most conservatives scoffed at as 'tax and spend' economics. I didn't even vote for him, myself. But I have to give him some credit, where most conservatives refuse to just simply out of spite. Again, I think politics are a terrible reason to pick a place to live. Politicians come and go of all different stripes and colors. California itself will most likely always be somewhat left of center as a state. Surprise!!! If that reality is simply too much to handle, then it may not be the best place for ye. Although I'm conservative and actually registered as a Republican, I don't get wrapped around the axle about these things at all. California is a great state above and beyond its politics.

If it weren't for the beautiful weather most of the time, no one would bother with California.
If they had the oppressive heat and humidity Florida has they would be recruiting people to live there.

^ That explains why the state is severely sprawling with overcrowding problems...
