as someone who most often commutes alone, i notice that the carpool lanes are most often moving well enough that i don't see a problem if mom and baby or gramps are driving in the carpool lane. in fact, i would mind more if they were in regular lanes, adding to the already obscene amount of traffic i am stuck in.

cheers!

As a person who uses the carpool lanes daily, I notice sometimes the carpool lanes can slow down, so I see a problem with people using them who aren't contributing to the goal the carpool lane is an incentive for. In fact, I would like to see more carpool lanes built so I would have even less traffic using them.

I'd have to agree even though I've benefited from having a youngun in the car. The "goal" is to get cars off the road. A kid would be with Mom anyway.

As of 2005, if your windshield wipers are on, the headlights are to be on as well. Not odd, just acknowledging bad visibility.

I've had to use my windshield wipers many times when the visibility is 45 miles. Rain doesn't always equate to poor visibility

No, but using your windshield wipers when the visibility is 45 miles and your headlights are off might contribute to you getting a traffic citation.

I drive with my headlights on all the time. Studies show collisions are greatly reduced. Headlights off means you are less visible to oncoming traffic. (DRLs sort of do this.)

Ever notice how many GM vehicles have one DRL out?

The headlights are always on when the Van is on. I can't figure out how to turn them off. As soon as you release the parking brake they come on, when the van is runnung anyway.
