I've talked to lots of other people who agree that things seem to be heating up even more. Take this last summer....a record hot summer for the PNW. There were more 90+ degree days than ever.

Portland is hotter and drier than Seattle. I've lived in both cities, but spent a lot more time living in WA.

I'm not out to lunch on this.
Climate change might result in a 2 deg C total warming as measured from an 1850 baseline. None of us would notice such a minor impact directly. You make 1989 sound like a long time ago. I grew up on the West Coast and recall childhood Summer visits to PDX. Typical inland place for that latitude, sort of like a slightly cooler version of Sacto. Now there is another issue that may cause people in in parts of town further out from the center to feel hotter. That is the impact of development combined with the vast increase in waste heat due to AC, electronics, etc.

I've also grown up on the west coast

This last PNW Summer is indicative of where the future is headed. Humans are much to blame. It's getting hotter.

Granted, the more concrete you're surrounded by, the hotter it feels. Seattle has more Oceanic influence than Portland, obviously, but it's heating up there, too. I escaped in the nick of time, and yet...ALASKA'S climate change is greater than anywhere else on Earth! If you don't believe me, look it up.

1989 sure feels like a long time ago lol...but that's another topic altogether.
