Haven't been but you should make sure they are taping when you will be here. I know someone who wanted to see him so bad and they weren't taping when he was here.

You'll have to check into this but, I don't think you can send away for tickets to Leno. If I am remebering correctly, you go to NBC the morning of a taping a pick up tickets for that night. But Craig Fergusen is really easy to get into, and he is WAY funnier than Leno.

Thumbs up I've been to Jay Leno many times.

MovingoutofCA is correct. They only give out tickets on the day of the show and you have to pick them up in person.
It films at 5:30PM and It runs for one hour just like at night.
The clock in the studio actually reads 11:30PM and they run it like a live show, pausing for commericals and all.

People usually start lining up as early as 12 noon hoping to get a good seat.
I would recommend getting there early and bringing a bottle of water, a good book and a snack. The line forms at the front of NBC studio 1 at the corner of Alameda and Olive Ave in Burbank CA.

Its a fun outing.

I went back in July. We got tickets by post, sent off for them maybe about a month or two before we were in town. Its filmed at NBC studios Burbank, get there a few hours early. However the front 2 rows (i.e the people Jay shakes hands with) are preassigned. On the day i was there nobody in line was allowed to sit there.
Def go for it - its lots of fun!

"..they weren't taping"

They're never taping anymore, it's all gone digital.

Taping is a cute word for an archaic practice, just like the boomer's who say, 'I love that album'.

Well, uncle or grand daddy - it's called a 'CD' now.

It's great fun. One of the things I enjoyed most was hearing the band play for the entire duration of the commercial breaks instead of just as bumper music leading into and out of the ads.

They don't do live tappings (or whatever you want to call it) evey single day of the year. The day you decide to come could be his day off.

Talking The Dancing Judge Itos

I'm not a big Leno fan, but one thing I do remember and like best was back in the mid 90s during the O.J. Simpson murder trial, how the "Tonight" show had all these Japanese guys dressed in judge's robes and wearing glasses looking like Judge Lance Ito, and dancing around the stage. Seeing the dancing Judge Itos always made me laugh!
