If you could magically transport one of Hawaii's climate (and warm ocean temperatures) to a location on the coast of California (with all the benefits of being on the mainland!), would you? There are tons of climates in Hawaii to pick from but the most pleasant would probably be Honolulu: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honolulu#Climate

I can magically create the warm and aromatic ambiance of the sulfur springs at Wiki Wiki Gulch, Hawaii instantaneously under the bed sheets.

Coastal Southern California weather is far better in my opinion. Hawaii's weather to me is a downgrade.

Hawaii's climate is great for a vacation, but no, not to live in. When we were in Maui last summer, I enjoyed the warm ocean. However, if I wasn't actually in the water, I wanted to be in an air-conditioned room. I don't think I would be happy with a climate so warm and humid that the air doesn't cool down at night, for more than a few weeks.

After all, unless you're on vacation, how much time do you spend IN the warm ocean water? Speaking for myself, not much, compared to the time I spend in the air.

Hawaii probably has one of the best tropical climates but it is rather warm/humid in summer. Still way better than a place like Florida and could definitely enjoy it. I kind of like the cooler weather during winter in SoCal (and Northern CA for that matter). Their winter weather, while already somewhat similar to SoCal's summer weather, would be nice to have for summer as it's more consistently warm and the ocean is warmer. Wish SoCal has a sunnier/warmer spring too, takes too long to warm up.

The poll needs more choices. Hawaii is not too warm, but it's too humid, with things rusting or molding easily, and too many mosquitos, roaches, centipedes. I like dry heat.

No, no, never. The coast of California already has a rare and sublime climate (at least for the US).

I prefer the Bay Area's weather by a mile. Hawaii is too humid for me.

You must be new to CA. People who are from here feel like, "Why mess with success?" How can you improve on perfection? And btw, Hawaii's going to get hotter, and the trade winds that make it tolerable, even pleasant, now, will become disturbed due to ocean warming, and will disappear. I've heard they're already changing and are a little off-schedule.

And you can keep the high humidity, thanks.
