What an obnoxious answer! Kinda like if you don't have anything useful to say, don't say anything. So rude.

Cuppatea yes ... i do believe that you'll be able to find a rental in the price range in various parts of Sonoma County but do you have any other criteria besides "pleasant weather"?

Probably not in Sonoma County, although you might find a 1 bdrm house, apartment or in-law unit. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/nby/apa If you don't have to live in Sonoma county you can probably find a rental home for < $2000 in Lake, Yolo, Butte or Sacramento County - and maybe some parts of Solano County.

Lake County is cheaper for sure

You might get some more helpful responses if you posted a bit more about what you are looking for. What is pleasant weather to you? Are you retired and commute to work distance/time no longer a factor? What is a nice house to you and your needs size wise....something like a newer home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths or would a well maintained older home with 2 bedrooms & one bath be just fine
