I am pretty happy in Cali!

In all seriousness, the people who got offended over this are stupid. Anyone can call things the way they want, as long as they are not offensive. Plenty of locals call SF, Frisco, but plenty of locals also get offended and correct you. I have heard a lot of nicknames for the city I grew up in and I never corrected anybody.

It is amazing how people, who allegedly espouse the "live and let live" philosophy get so uptight about a stupid thing as nomenclature.

Furthering that point, don't get offended that people get offended by having to hear a stupid nickname to a place.

I don't unless they vocally let me know about it and get up all in my business about why I call a place a certain way

In the immortal words of one Rodney King, "Will you please stop hitting me with that f...ing stick!"
Oops! No, not that quote.
This one: "Can we all just get along?"

Here here. It affirms my belief that "live and let live" is a total crock. You can walk down the street in West Hollywood naked and singing and people will think you are funny. You write Cali and they get offended. Priceless. You can't make this stuff up.

They were doing you a favor, I hope you're kidding with this post.

If you're not you're going to have a tough road ahead in life if this really offended you.

Exactly. I couldn't care any less about what people call it.

The same can be said of those actually offended by Cali.

Probably just trying to keep his song simple. Using "California" wouldn't have fit. ("Goin' back to Cali, strictly for the weather...") May he rest in peace.

I have never met anyone offended. Those who were born and raised in CA find it well silly, that is all.

Usually it says the person really is not familiar with CA and is picking up a term used by others not familiar with CA. That's all.
