Also, by and large it's not a late-night party town so much anymore, TV and movies shoot early, and celebrities are into fitness and juicing, not cocaine and heavy drinking. Severe DUI penalties inhibit boozing and since you have to drive everywhere, if you're the driver, you don't drink unless you want to be the next embarrassing mugshot in the news.

Is there heavy ambition for fame and gold digging? Sure, but go to Wall Street or Washington DC and you'd see just as much.

Like I said, you can cross paths with industry people in the gym or at Whole Foods. Partying not necessary, although you might consider yourself lucky to be invited to one.
What about SFV though?

I did mention Encino; Michael Jackson lived there. Studio City in the hills and the flats of Valley Village have lots of industry folk who have done well. One reason it wouldn't hurt to live in nearby areas.

You could probably live anywhere in the country if you had an agent to represent you here.

I'm asking about the superficial vs West hollywood. I heard the Valley is more laid back. Like the actors who live there are already successful and just want peace with family.

The SF Valley is a valley that has at least 1.8 million people--which exceeds the populations of all but the four largest cities in the United States – New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston, so it may not be "laid back" by your standards. Same with your criteria for "superficial."

Why not just check it out for yourself?
