I injured myself at the end of August of 2015. I have been off work with several surgeries and currently attending physical therapy. My doctor believes I will require about 4-6 months more of therapy before I can be release back to work. However, my Ed disability benefits will expire in just a few weeks. I am not in need of Social Security disability as they do not offer anything short term. Am I able to get an extension on benefits through the state just for the remainder few months? I have never been on disability so I am unsure. Everything I have heard is when your max benefits are exhausted you are done. Any advice, help or suggestions are welcome!

Your doctor would fill out the continuation form for extend disability, ask him/her about this.

You did not say if your injury was work related or not? If work related get a lawyer!
