Wait, let me guess, the "big california boom" is right around the corner right?
And what pray tell has happened to Texas employment growth since the price of oil collapsed from $100/barrel in 2014 to $28/barrel in 2016?

Pretty convenient your chart ends in 2014.

Also you could examine the same data and change the dates from 2010-2016 and it would look completely different. Graphs and charts are easily manipulated. Clearly whoever made that one wanted Texas to look good vs CA.

See, unlike you, I don't have to make up data. Just ask and you shall receive.

Here's the 2015-2016 YOY changes for both farm and non-farm employment for all the major Texas metros:

Austin-San Antonio-El Paso
http://www.bls.gov/regions/southwest...paso_table.pdf

Dallas-Forthworth-Houston
http://www.bls.gov/regions/southwest...ston_table.pdf

As you can see from the data, all reporting healthy positive growth year of year from 2015 to 2016 in both non-farm and farm sectors. With the exception of Houston (which is heavily dependent on oil industry), the growth is aggregating at about 3% YOY for both non-farm and farm.

To put this graphically in perspective, from January 2014 to May 2016 (most recent data available from the BLS).

Labor Force:

Employment (2006 to 2016):

Unemployment:

My opinion based on the data? Yes, Texas is not growing as fast as it was from the recession to 2014 (10% employment gain in 7 years is pretty tough to keep up), but the economy is still growing briskly, and I don't see any signs of it stopping anytime soon.

Here's what I do know, from the recession to 2016, California can't sniff the employment gain numbers of Texas, and once Moon Beam is out of office, and they get a REAL liberal progressive in office like Gavin Newsom, hahahahahahaha... look out below.

There is a lot of hypocrisy. Also a lot of politics of distraction - the whole gender neutral bathroom thing etc

As a California native it's just disappointing that the state is failing in many ways.
It seems like the huge debt is a ticking time bomb
Also what happens if more of the wealthy so start moving out ?
Things will be even worse

Considering most of the tax based is generated from the wealthy, obviously things would get monumentally worse, especially if the new Governor and assembly in 2018 begin increasing entitlement spending as they are planning.

My question is, why do you Californians keep voting the same type of tax and spend liberals into office?

Agriculture is dying as well.

If LA dies CA dies.

SF or other areas can't save the day.

My question to you is this; why are you so obsessed with California? You have posted on these forums 361 times and every single comment is a rant about California. Have you ever considered looking for a new hobby?

See? You have people like 2sleepy who won't even discuss the problems of California because it scares them.

Is this what you want? Scared individuals who put their heads into the sand instead of actually addressing the issues?
