i have f/t work as engineer and contemplating to study online for mba degree. i was wondering if there is a good mba program in CA state preferably in bay area in public univercities. Since I work as an engineer in tech sector, I am interested in program that are more geared toward technology sector.

If you're going the full online route, you really don't need a school in the Bay area or even in California.

Do an evening or weekend/executive MBA program from a reputable school, or don't go at all. People will look unfavorably on an MBA from anything other than a top-tier school. It's a black mark against you because it indicates you were too stupid to figure out it was a waste of your time/money.

My buddy went through an online degree mill and it's worthless for applying most online applications. He had to lie which school as his wasn't even listed and it was a "must fill in" section. All that just to get an interview.

Huge part of MBA school is all the networking you do with your cohorts. That doesn't happen in an online program.

Do you guys feel that way about all online mba's? How about online MBA's from legit schools i.e. University of Indiana or Carnegie Mellon?
