I don't know. I'm a female and have never felt burdened by the price of feminine products and i admit, i found some of the puns funny but i don't take it all too seriously.
And also, how much money do people spend on so much unnecessary junk? .... like paper towels, ultra-soft (and expensive) toilet paper, body wash , liquid hand soap, loads of other unnecessary household cleaning products, unnecessary hygiene products, junk food, pre-packaged food, soda, etc., etc., etc.,.
If people cut back just a bit on all of the stupid products (that are not only unnecessary but also add to the landfill and feed / support the stupid consumer driven / dominant cultural paradigm) they'd have enough money for the necessary things + a bit of tax money.
I could care less if tampons are taxed.

Always green package, 40 count, $5.37, usually a $1.00 off coupon to be found. That would put tax at about $.43. There's numerous cheaper options, store brands, etc.

I'm honestly not understanding all the posts I've seen elsewhere--it's like women are claiming they spend upwards of $100 a month or something.

We all need certain health & beauty products to be healthy, and all of those products are taxed at the same rate. The fact that sales tax is collected upon products used exclusively by one sex or the other does not make anything unfair.

It is a tax on being female. Name a necessary health product that only men, and all men, must use that is taxed. This isn't about money, per se. It's about legal gender equality as a fundamental operating concept.

It is about politics not gender equality.

How so? Please inform us about necessary health products that only men, and all men, must use that are taxed.
