It's just after 11 AM here and it's been raining since well before sunrise with no break that I'm aware of. When we left the house this morning at about 7:50 we were sitting at 1.25" since midnight (I'm unsure when it started at our house but NOAA said about 4 AM). I wouldn't be surprised if we pick up over 2.5" before the day is out, and we're already close to 5" over average for October.

Still dry here this afternoon.

Despite a rainstorm set to hit the Southland this week, the region continues to face an unprecedented lack of precipitation, recording only 60% of average rainfall this month:
Northern California is seeing two or three times more rain than normal. So why is Southern California so dry? - LA Times

Current radar: Heaviest WAA precip is at the Monterey - SLO County Line. The actual core of the low should sweep in tonight. I expect the low to spread out over much of the state, especially the southern 2/3. Again, one and done for the Southland. This will probably be the pattern for this water year, most systems hitting the northern 1/2 and the odd system making it further south. Net of it is continued Extreme Drought for the Southland, some level of drought for Central Cal, and possible higher than normal for the Northern 1/3.

It was 72 degrees in Seattle yesterday. Normally at this point, the temps are in the 50's or lower.

Yeah - but it's a dry heat!

I'm in Central California and it's going to be in the mid-high 70's all week. Go figure.

Whenever we get this type of winter in November all I can think of is someone in Buffalo NY buried under 4 feet of snow and muck and they see pictures on the evening news of California.

Same here. I mentioned yesterday that we should be in the 50's but, again today, temps are going to be touching 80 degrees. Last year on this day it was 58 degrees. Strange.

Yeah. But Mars, this has nothing to do with Trump / Clinton. Let's get back on topic!

I'll do my best. Talking about the weather right now seems so insignificant, doesn't it?
