I don't think you will find a state that does not have a public employee unions.....some have more unionized members then others.

Hm! I remember Gray Davis campaigning on the basis of "Experience money can't buy!" The truth was his entire administration was experience ONLY money could buy. When Davis' campaign came out with his claim my wife and I, both of us political and legislative analysts, had many a good laugh as the low-information voters rushed him into office. Most of you know the rest.

As with almost all things political, follow the money!

As to the original question, "No!" My wife and I, both natives of California, don't want the state to become like Cuba. Between us we still have five daughters, nine grandchildren and a great grand living there. We're too old to mount a Bay of Pigs type offensive to overthrow a totalitarian government for the sakes of our families. On the other hand, it might be fun to try!

Nobody wants our politicians bought and paid for more than Citizens United, a conservative activist group.
