Is there a Cable internet service anywhere in small-town Northern California (I don't mean Bay Area, Sacramento or Tahoe, I mean towns north of them). Outside of Paradise/Magalia, CA, and outside I-5 corridor up to Redding (these have Comcast service). Dunsmuir, Mt. Shasta, Yreka, Weed, Westfield, Susanville, Eureka, Arcata, Crescent City, etc.

I know Charter Cable provides cable internet in small rural towns in North-Central Sierra, but not sure about Northern. Comcast has service maps and they do have Paradise/Magalia and I-50 up to Redding, but that's bout it. Northland Communications, perhaps.

Google shows that Mount Shasta, CA (96067) Has Frontier internet services. Also some other areas of northern CA.

FrontierĀ® Internet Services & Prices | 1-877-671-0619 | Plans & Pricing

Frontier Internet in Mount Shasta, CA | High Speed Internet in Mount Shasta | Bustan

Here in the mountains of southwest Oregon we've had Frontier internet services about five years, We've been pretty happy with it.

It's not cable but Digital Path (out of Chico) has fixed wireless available in most rural areas.

Frontier is unfortunately a DSL provider. I'm looking for Cable (or fiber) internet provider, as such connection is of much higher speed and reliability. Either DSL or Fixed wireless (from tower) don't meet requirements for my usage, that's a problem.
I'm seeing Northland Cable having offices in Mt. Shasta and Yreka, and seems like they provide internet service as well, I guess I can call them up. Surprised that Charter doesn't seem to be offering service there; they provide good cable service in Tahoe and vicinity.

Thanks for info on Suddenlink. Didn't realize they were providing cable internet in Humboldt county, seems like they offer high speeds too (I thought it was DSL).

Comcast Xfiniti internet has availability map here:
Comcast Availability Map | Service Coverage Area (XFINITY)

it doesn't seem to reach even as far North as Red Bluff, just ends slightly North of Chico. Covers Mendocino, Ukiah and Willits. And yes, it goes East into the Sierra midway to Tahoe....Charter picks up further East -- South and North Lake Tahoe has Charter.

Seems like Northland Cable broadband is servicing Siskiyou county and some of Mt. Shasta, quite a surprise--didn't think there was any. Seems like speed is only up to 24mps.

Found Charter Spectrum map: seems like covers Redding, Alturas and Crescent City (+ around Lake Tahoe)

I have 150 Mbps Comcast cable in Oroville. What town(s) are you thinking of? Basically, any town of any size is going to have at least Comcast. If you're out in the sticks its satellite.

Unfortunately Comcast is not everywhere: most of North Cal towns are not covered by Comcast (see my above post and Comcast coverage map link). But seems like there're 3 other cable internet providers out there, and most towns are covered by them. (Susanville and Portola, though, don't seem to have any). I'm yet to find out how reliable these other providers are and how fast they fix issues, like if tree falls on overhead line/how often they get outages. (I have flexibiity in terms of location, but reliable cable or fiber internet is non-negotiable). Comcast is pretty good about service I think, I'm in a very rural location on Comcast now.
