What's my apolitical, honest opinion of CA infrastructure?

It sucks.

Just out of curiosity, what infrastructure would that be? I do remember California in the 50s and 60s when it truly was The Golden State. It's painful to look at it now.

Can't be worse and yes they are generally better because they see what happens when you do bad work.

Except Union members of course.

Ever occur to you that every one of these people you now consider incompetent were once "new people?"

Yes and unlike most employees they have proven to be bad employees. Getting rid of bad employees is smart, keeping them is not. Any businessman knows that. The same applies to Gov't employees. If they are bad, get rid of them. If they made a mistake OK, but what has happened here is not just a mistake. If someone claims a mistake, when it is really incompetence and you feel they should not be fired, demote them and move them to a dept where they cannot hurt the State through incompetence.

Me, too. What happened??? And yes, this is a serious question. There were decades of deferred maintenance, but why?
