Hey! How come the CityData California Forum isn't on the list? It's pretty weird, ain't it?

Or maybe just filled with weirdos. Hard to tell.

Curmudgeon, thanks for posting the Weird USA link. I've had a lot of fun trips based around places I found on Weird USA.

However, "Weird USA" covers "weird places" in all 50 states, not just California. The owners of the site have also published books on most states. So, it's good for all sorts of road trips to weird places in every single state in the Union.

Proving that weirdness abounds every where.

Sadly, no info on Missouri yet. I have to go to other sites to discover what weirdness here I haven't already encountered. The quest continues!

Here's a couple more interesting sites for you: Northern California Archives | Only In Your State Southern California Archives | Only In Your State

Maybe I'm strange. I've been to many of them. I've camped at Racetrack Lake a few times. Very peaceful! Good weather though, no rock races!

Don't miss Aurora if you visit Bodie, nearby. Lots of interesting ghost towns east of 395.

I like Zzyzx just for the spelling. Must be oddest city name in US if you call it a city (it isn't). Prominent off ramp on the LA-Vegas trip.

I received that book as a white elephant gift for Christmas. Quite a fascinating read.

I think the correct term is "coffee table" book.
