At the end of the day, California roads are fine and don't need any repair or maintenance ...

At the end of the day, California will use this money efficiently, and for what it was promised for, and we expect CalTrans to a great job ...

Trump says he’d consider increasing the gas tax

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2017/05/01/trump-floats-raising-increasing-the-gas-tax/
Here's the difference, Trump's gas tax is just talk, he hasn't committed to it, or what the plan will be, it's just whispers in the air. I'm sure he'll have major debates about it in congress about its pros and cons, and we'll get a clear picture of what the tax will fund if the debate goes towards a new Federal increase of the gas tax which currently sits at 18 cents.

The CA Democrat tax, which now is scheduled to hit 54 cents per gallon, was a back door deal that actually passed with no debate, that had no public input, and Jerry Brown got it passed by greasing the palms of his political allies.

If Trump does the same thing as dirty Brown, I will be the first to criticize him, and I'm sure you will too, but you will also remain silent about the ACTUAL tax theft that has already occurred which makes you a giant hypocrite of the highest order.

CA's gas tax is 300% higher than the Nation's.

I bet by November 1st the avg gas price in ca for regular unleaded will be at least $3.50 a gallon. I paid $2.82 a few days ago. The car tax will range from $25.00 - $175.00 annually. I thought as of april 1 car registration increased $10.00 but I am not sure about that. I drive approx. 2500 miles a year & the freeways should of already been repaired with all the money the state has already received from gas taxes, car registrations, etc. The far right lane on the 10 freeway west between Calimesa & ford street exit in Redlands is awful.

Before the 12 cent a gallon increase, the gas tax in California was 38.17 cents per gallon. With the increase the gas tax will be 50.13 cents per gallon about 8 cents less than Pennsylvania and almost the same as Washington State, or a little over 12 cents a gallon cheaper than Reno

Yup. We are in the Top 3 for most heavily taxed gas in the country once this hits the consumer. But hey, why do I care? These type of taxes most heavily hurt poor people anyway.
