You are part of the problem. Davis gave you state employee better pension rate and that's may cause the CALPERS system to going to defund soon. I was a teenager under Reagan. Got jobs under Teagan. In my eyes we need more Reagans to keep the loonies liberals in check. But we've got out numbered and California is getting worse. They want to tax everything, that's what happened to the movie industry. Now they want to bring them back.

You have no idea regarding my work history, I only shared a tiny part of my life. Smoke another one. BTW, were you educated in CA public schools any time past the 80's? You know, after punctuation, grammar & sentence construction were no longer emphasized? Seems like...pity...

AHH... No.

It was Deukmejian who did it at the request of the Education Commission. The UC System had grown huge and the number of students who could attend due to things like population stagnation and entry requirements had shrunk so they couldnt pay their bills.

I can drop everything at the drop of a dime and move where I please. The only thing that's stopping me is my wallet.

Its really a long hard stretch to blame California Decline on Reagan either as governor or President.
Californias Success wasent the Success of the Republicans either. It was the Conservative Democrats. Liberalism was alive and eating away at California before he even became Governor. About his only accomplishment as governor was to freeze hiring of more governmental workers in trying to balance the budget. It did work untill he left. It was almost impossible for him to get anything thru the Liberal state house.
Regan didnt start out his career as a Republican. He was a Democrat. But he was a Kennedy democrat. A Conservative. BUt as we all know Conservative democrats are a thing of the past and they moved on to the Republican party.
Californias assembly has since after WW2 been Democrat. Conservative Democrat. It was the Conservatives that created all the programs that were successful and made California great. It was the Liberal Democrats who have since taken advantage of this existing system and milked it as much as possible for their own monetary and political gain.

California began its slow decline in the late 1960's and 1970's following the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which opened the door to massive, unchecked immigration from Third World countries with highly disparate cultures from our own American culture.

Public education and infrastructure in California have rapidly deteriorated since the 1970's. The public educational issues resulting from the changing demographics were only exacerbated by the passage of Prop 13 in 1978.

Crime and prison enrollment have increased drastically over the past several decades, too. California never had a lot of blacks to begin with, a group that typically constitutes the bulk of prison populations in most Eastern states, so that the rise in crime is highly correlated with the explosive growth of the state's Latin American population as well as some Southeast Asian groups (e.g., Hmongs, Vietnamese, etc.).

Latin Americans also have the lowest educational attainment levels of any racial or ethnic group in the United States, so with massive increases in the Latin American population comes the decline of public schools. California is a state where most people send their children to private schools, if they can afford it, consistent with other heavily Hispanic states like Arizona and Nevada.

Prop 13 has nothing to do with the problems. Californias property tax revenues. per capita are larger than most other states.
Dont blame the immigrants either. Blame the people who coddled them for their future votes.
