[quote=Ruth4Truth;48629146]The firearms owners I know in CA don't have a problem. They're happy. You keep harping on that, in spite of people pointing out that CA doesn't prohibit firearms.

Exactly my brother in law has a handgun, lever action rifle and an assault type rifle with a telescopic sight and a flash hider. All perfectly legal.

you know there is something you who say the state is going down the drain and that it was so much better in the 50s, the 60s, or whenever you were young, should know.

And that is that the conservative, negative, glass is half empty people of those decades said the exact same as you are saying now. The country is going down the toilet. It's full of communists. This Elvis rock and roll will destroy everyting, they are putting Flouride in our water!!!

Face it, some people are just unhappy in this life because everyone else is not just like they are. It's why they move to Montana, and Idaho.

Were you gloating when the Senate, House and Prez were Dems? These things ebb and flow. Meh.

Wow, I'd forgotten about that! You're right. Those were the days of COINTELPRO, and Tricky Dick. Ah, nostalgia! One thing you can say about California--it's colorful!

Okay, but make sure the conservative areas of Los Angeles County (Santa Clarita, Porter Ranch, Granada Hills, etc) exempt.

Porter Ranch and Granada Hills voted for Hillary.
The only neighborhoods in the city of L.A. which voted for Trump were Shadow Hills and Sunland, and one precinct in East Hollywood of all places. (Due to Russians, Scientologists, and Gary Johnson voters.)

They did? Well, those areas used to be conservative. I can't find any voting data from those areas.

However, it's possible those areas vote conservative on other issues, like taxes.

That information is available on the LA Times website.

Hillary got over two thirds of the vote in Granada Hills which suggests that no Republican could win there. (Based on the people I know in Granada Hills, this sounds about right - their views are more Santa Monica than Santa Clarita.)

Hillary got 52-55 percent of the vote in Porter Ranch, which suggests that Kasich or Rubio could have concievably won there. Not that it would mean anything. More accurate to call that area moderate than conservative.

The last conservative areas in the city of Los Angeles are Shadow Hills and Sunland.

You mean they think and make an intelligent vote not just blindly follow a feel good explanation.

Alternatively, you could also interpret that as they value dogma over facts and logic.
