Hi,

My girlfriend and me are looking to move from England in the UK, to either Florida or California.

Unfortunately, we know nothing about either of them and would appreciate some help in one, which of the two would be a good first move, and any information people can give in terms of visa's and things.

We thought we would rent some accomodation first, then buy later on once settled a bit. We have no children and are around our 30's so still like to enjoy life. I'm a professional photographer and would look to continue my work in the US.

I guess a choice of destination would be our first priority, but any help from anyone, especially from anyone already moved from the UK, would be really appreciated.

Thanks

If you know nothing of either of them, then how do you know you want to move there?

Have you researched visas and immigration?

If you like flat, hot, and sticky, then Florida's a good bet. If you prefer springtime weather much of the year along with mountains, then coastal California is right for you.

GraceJJ you sound quite mean to me,this person was just asking for advise.Perhaps she hasn't used this site before.
I would think that you should work on getting your Visas first, which is quite difficult.
Good Luck. If you are young which I expect you are,it wil all be and adventure you can look back on.
Oh yes,and not all Americans are rude.

I just find it funny, how they label Americans dumb and their smart. And whats even funnier is that they hated foreigners being in their country even if its done legally, ironic they cant stand it there anymore and wanna go elsewhere... LMAO... mean? yeah probably but thats what karma is all about.

Go and travel around Florida and California. Do not just stand there in front of your computer.
