I live in Kern County(Bakersfield Region) and it got up to 111 degrees today, but different sources have different temps...It's amazing how were all roasting inland, while the coastal communities still remain in the 60's and 50's and the waters off the coast are still very cold despite a Strong High Pressure System over us you would think even the coastal communities would warm up and the waters would warm up as well.

95* 4000' elevation. 102* in town. A bit high for June. Above average but not anything exceptional. Next week is supposed to be in the 90's. about average for in town

Anything above 97 is hot whether it's 120 or just 100. Actually, 90 and up are hot. There's a little different between 70 and 80 degrees and huge difference between 80 and 90 degrees. There's some difference between 100 and 120: shades become solid hot at over 114. Still, out in the sun, they're already very hot anyway with winds blowing intense from the ground: 100 and or 120.

And in sandals no less.

It's really interesting reading about the temperatures in different parts of the state. People who don't live in California think the weather is the same everywhere in California all year long.

And the genius "lost" her sandals. How high on shrooms one must be.

How have the temperatures been where you live today?

I'm 18 miles east of downtown San Diego, and it hit 88 here today. I don't mind when it gets into the 80s and even 90s (that's what my pool is for ) but not sure I could take 120+.
Yesterday now at this point. High was 80. Dropped quickly to 60s due to stiff onshore wind during afternoon. Dropped into mid 50s after sundown.

We're borderline La Nina and have been for some time. Water's gonna stay cold for a while more. That could be bad news for precip. While we lucked out this rainfall year, next one may not be so good. I'm hoping El Nino kicks in later this year.
