Be careful what you wish for I guess (and I was one of those wishing in 2009). This is on top of 13% for 2017. Only a mere eight times the rate of inflation. Patient protection is one thing (eliminating pre-existing conditions clauses and benefit caps ), but this is quite another.

The rates are astronomically expensive because of extremely idiotic regulations like no benefit caps! What if there were no benefit caps for auto insurance? One can buy 25/50 insurance or pay more and get 100/300 auto insurance. How much would an auto insurance policy cost if it was guaranteed unlimited liability?

Everyone should have the same choice for health insurance. One should be able to choose an unlimited policy or the old standard of one million benefit cap. How many people will pick the one million dollar benefit cap if it means the policy is much less expensive?

Only way to Solve this is by cutting out the Middlemen which are the Greedy Insurance Companies. We can easily cut cost by 30% by paying the healthcare facilities directly. Instead of paying 30% to the greedy CEO's of Insurance Companies.

Even most of the other countries with socialized medicene have great access and poor outcomes where many die waiting for service and have little to no access to live improving but non life threatening surgeries like hip and knee replacements.
